Mac Alpha Testing Information

On May 24th, 2024 There.com announced that the company is searching for interested Thereians to test a Mac Alpha version of the virtual world game.
The first round of applicants are currently being reviewed and those that qualify will soon see an invitation from TestFlight. If you’d like to apply as a backup Mac tester, make sure you are running a current version of macOS 14 Sonoma. Send an email with your username to Feedback@thereinc.com and enter Mac Alpha Testing as the subject line. All Alpha testers will need to have a Premium membership to test the Mac client.
Michael Wilson, CEO of There.com has posted Tips & Tools for the There OSX Alpha Test to his personal blog I Am So There. Mr. Wilson will continue to communicate to the group of Alpha testers through his blog. Anyone interested in following the journey of the Alpha Mac test is also welcome to read the I Am So There blog for updates.
Please note, there is no projected release date for a macOS 14 There.com client. We are just at the very beginning stages of testing a Mac client version of our virtual world. This test does not include a version for the iPad or the iPhone.
Be One of the First Mac Alpha Testers for There.com!

Do you want to be among the pioneers exploring the virtual world of There.com on your Mac computer? We’re excited to announce that we’re seeking five dedicated macOS 14 users to test an Alpha version of There.com!
The test client is feature complete and does almost everything the Windows version does, but most likely will be unstable in the early phase. A current version of macOS 14 Sonoma is required. There is no minimum hardware spec because if your machine can run macOS 14, it can run the There.com virtual world platform.
We’re looking for testers who can articulate their experiences with precision. Clear, detailed reports outlining any encountered errors are crucial for our Engineers to address issues promptly. The There.com macOS 14 Alpha test client will be closed to anyone outside of the small, approved group of users. Testers should not re-distribute the test Mac client version to other Thereians.
If you are interested in testing the There.com virtual world on a Mac computer, email Feedback@thereinc.com with your username and verify which version of the macOS 14 client you are running. Enter “Mac Alpha Testing” as your email subject line. Only five Alpha testers will be chosen from the list of applicants. The five users will be invited to test the software through TestFlight, the macOS utility testing software.
Please note, there is no projected release date for a macOS 14 There.com client. We are just at the very beginning stages of testing a Mac client version of our virtual world.
Free Spirit Festival

Grab your tie-dye shirt and your hippie pants and get ready to feel the groove because the Free Spirit Festival is back, spreading its bohemian vibes across the digital realm of There.com! From April 14th to the 20th, we invite you to join us in a virtual celebration of music, peace, and the enduring spirit of RedStormRizing.

For years, the Free Spirit Festival has been a beacon of harmony and celebration of music, drawing kindred souls from all corners of There.com. This year the celebration honors the festival founder and creator, RedStormRizing. The RedWalk Cove neighborhood and the Thereian community will come together during the festival to honor the memory of RedStormRizing and her legendary virtual neighborhood creation, RedWalk Cove.

Nestled off the coast of Comet on a private island, RedWalk Cove is a testament to creativity and harmony, where every nook and cranny whispers of its creator’s boundless imagination. RedStormRizing built the small island community around a secret cove surrounded by sandy shores and grassy high ridges overlooking the ocean. There are over 40 unique builds scattered throughout the island community of RedWalk Cove. It takes a few hours just to thoroughly explore and visit every unique location.

As you wander through the lush landscapes RedStormRizing crafted – with waterfalls cascading into crystal-clear ponds, vibrant flowers swaying in the breeze, and whimsical houses tucked amid the greenery – you’ll discover her unmistakable touch, often accompanied by the playful presence of the abomination known as Keith scattered throughout. The mystical creature escaped the Circus of Doctor Seven and invaded the island of RedWalk Cove. Keith adapted to the terrain and weather rather quickly and soon multiplied.

RedStormRizing was more than just a builder; she was a maestro of melodies and a champion of sharing her passion for music by bringing the community together at events. Music permeated every corner of RedWalk Cove, infusing it with a rhythm and energy unlike any other.

Join us as we pay homage to RedStormRizing’s legacy during the Free Spirit Festival, where music will flow like a gentle stream and peace will reign supreme. Let’s come together in the virtual embrace of RedWalk Cove, united by our love for music, our reverence for creativity, and our shared desire to spread joy and harmony wherever we roam in the virtual world of There.

Developer Program Updates

ANNOUNCEMENT – The virtual world There.com has made several updates to documents in the Developer Program. We have also added the updates to the Peer Review item summary page. We kindly ask that all There Developers and Peer Reviewers read the updated documents and familiarize themselves with the changes.
The following Developer Program documents have been updated. To view the internal documents, you must first log into your There.com account and copy and paste the links into your browser window.
Developer Submission Guidelines
Below you’ll find a quick summary of the Developer Program changes. Please refer to the actual documents for full details regarding the recent changes in guidelines.
Expanded education about finding and tracking comments and reviews on cancelled submissions.
It is the Developer’s and the Peer Reviewer’s responsibility to know how to track comments left by Staff and other members on cancelled submissions.
- Every time a comment is left on a submission an autogenerated email is sent by the Developer Program to the Developer and all reviewers.
- The email is sent to your Avatar’s registered email address. You must have a valid email address on file to receive the system wide Theremail.
- The autogenerated email will include a link to the cancelled submission. Click on the link to access the submission comments, approvals and rejections.
The subject of the email will look something like this for example:
(Username)’s Review of (Designer’s Name) (Title of Item) received (pid 12345678)
Example Subject Line:
Pyrena_Zosime’s Review of Vash’s Frivolous Shirt received pid 1132830
If you are not receiving the autogenerated emails from the Developer Program in your inbox, make sure that your Avatar’s registered email address is up to date. You can update your email address in your Profile under Member Info. The next step is to check your email spam folder. The emails from the Developer program are sent from noreply@prod.there.com to your Avatar’s registered email address.
IMPORTANT: Add noreply@prod.there.com to your list of email contacts. This will help prevent the emails from landing in your spam folder.
There is a small possibility that your email provider will block all system wide emails sent from noreply@prod.there.com. In this case, you may want to create a new email address with a different email provider and make sure to update your Avatar’s registered email address.
Lowered the number of negative reviews from 5 to 3 required for submission cancellation.
If a submission item receives three (3) or more negative reviews, the Designer is REQUIRED to CANCEL the submission. It is the responsibility of the Designer to remove the rejected item from Product Submissions. If the item was rejected for technical reasons, it can be corrected and relisted back in Product Submissions. If the item was rejected due to a violation of the Developer Guidelines or the Terms of Service the submission may not be listed again.
New requirements for test item identification. Test items are now only allowed 14 days in Submissions.
Test items must clearly be marked that the product submission is in fact a test item.
- Mark the Title as a test item. Example: Test Item (Product Type) or Test Item Blue Shirt
- Mark the Description as a test item. Example: This blue shirt is a test item only.
- Mark the Thumbnail image as a test item. Example: The text overlay on the thumbnail image should explicitly say test item.
Test items can only remain in Peer Review for a maximum of two (2) weeks. It is the Designer’s responsibility to remove the test item after fourteen (14) days. If a test item is left in Peer Review for more than a fortnight it will be removed by Staff which will result in a loss of points for the Designer and any Peer Reviewer who left feedback.
Test items are not supposed to be approved. They are for testing purposes only. Peer Reviewers who consistently approve test only items will be issued an educational warning.
Guideline addition – No imagery of children allowed in the Developer Program.
Do not submit images of minor children to the There Developer Program. This includes real-life photos, filtered photos, AI photos or artwork of any person under the age of 18.
Please read and review the Developer Program guidelines and FAQs for a full detailed explanation of the 2024 updates.
