Updates to Guidelines & Introduction of New Policies

ANNOUNCEMENT- There.com has updated their Virtual World Developer Submission Guidelines and added a new Offensive Item Policy and Harassment Resolution Outline. The Developer Program updates and addition of behavior guidelines are effective immediately. We have outlined and summarized the changes below. We strongly encourage you to read the articles in their entirety so that you can get a good understanding of the changes we’ve made to the There service.

The Terms of Service (TOS) agreement has remained the same. The copyright year and company contact information has been updated. We’ve added helpful and relative article links to the bottom of the TOS.

The following updates have been made to the Developer Submission Guidelines:

  1. Update to the Inappropriate Material paragraph.
  2. “No group attacks” and “No racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, etc. materials are permitted” have been added to the Inappropriate Material’s list.
  3. Virtual items depicting the U.S. Confederate flag and other signs of oppression will no longer be accepted into the There Developer Program.
  4. The list of Designer objects deemed inappropriate has been updated.
  5. Cannabis and references to blood and gore are now permitted that There is an adult Virtual World with an age limit of 18+. (No minors are allowed to use our service.)
  6. The 3rd Offence Developer warning has been updated.

Here is a summary of the Offensive Item Policy:

  1. Any U.S. Confederate flag virtual object currently in-world will no longer be allowed to be listed in the Auctions. Any U.S. Confederate flag object must stay within the boundaries of a private Real Estate Zone owned by the holder of the virtual item.
  2. Members cannot use language/clothing/props/vehicles/documents/signs/activity flags in any new member landing area, any There-owned Zone or privately held member-owned Zone that are considered to be racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, etc. towards any individual or group.
  3. Members will no longer be allowed to list “boycott (insert blank)” or “protest (insert blank)” props/clothing/vehicles/decorations in the Auctions.
  4. Members cannot hold/wear/drive “boycott” or “protest” virtual items in any There-owned Zone or private member-owned Zone. Members can wear these items in their own private Real Estate Zones or out in the wide-open spaces in There.
  5. Members can hold/wear/drive “protest” or “boycott” virtual items at a distance of 100 meters away from outside of a There-owned Zone or private member-owned Zone.
  6. Commitment to tolerance and equality in There statement.

  2. Clear outline of bad behavior and the steps Staff will take to enforce the Terms of Service.
  3. Three strikes you’re out policy. It includes two warnings and results in a hardware ban on the third offense.

We understand the updates to our current Developer Submission Guidelines and the addition of two new articles requires some lengthy reading. Upcoming Changes to There Documentation

ANNOUNCEMENT: Next week There.com will be updating our Terms of Service and Developer Submission Guidelines. We will be adding a policy for offensive items in There-Owned Zones as well as a Harassment Resolution Outline. The updates to our documentation will go into effect immediately upon the date of release. We will make another announcement when the updates have been posted. We appreciate your cooperation with the changes to our service.

2020 Winter There Games

There Winter Games (TWG) is a huge 10-day series of competitive events in There that run from February 21st through March 1st. Everyone is invited to play in this fun and friendly competition. Participants earn points for their team, and the team with the most points at the end takes home the gold medal! Events happen at all hours of the day and range from vehicle races to card games to quests and so much more. Whatever your interests are, you’re likely to find activities to enjoy.

Everyone is invited to play and is already part of a team. The color of your name tag will tell you which team you’re on. There are 16 name tag colors. If you aren’t quite sure where you belong, it’s easy to find out. Just head over to the Winter Games Welcome Center and use the handy name tag sign. When you click the sign’s action tag, it will tell you what color your name tag is and also give you a link to join your team! This is a great way to meet people and make new friends.

Halloween Decorating Contest

Halloween is a hauntingly  good time of year in the virtual world There.com. Our Designers have endless ghoulish imaginations and have created spooky and grisly virtual items for our community to decorate with during the Halloween season. If you are planning on building a haunted house, outdoor bloodbath, creepy cemetery or a scary scene, we’d like to invite you to enter your Zone in the 2019 Halloween Decorating Contest for the chance to win a spooktacular gift. If  you are interested in participating in the contest, please read the guidelines. The deadline to submit your Haunted House is October 23rd. 

Search the Auctions for hundreds of decorative Halloween items. With so many scary virtual goods to choose from, your haunted house will be a scream!

 

 

Therebucks Payment Processing Options

Therebucks are the currency used in the Virtual World There. The conversion rate between Therebucks and US dollars is 1,800T = US $1.00. Therebucks can be used to buy virtual goods like clothing, cars and dream homes in the There Shop and from Designers in the Auctions. They can be purchased on the Buy More Therebucks page on There Central.

There.com offers two payment processing options for Thereians to purchase Therebucks. The minimum purchase is $5 and the maximum purchase is $150.

1) STRIPE a debit or credit card payment processor.
2) PayPal an electronic online payment system.

To purchase Therebucks using the Stripe platform…

Go to the Buy More Therebucks page.
Enter the US dollar amount you would like to purchase.
Click the Buy Now button.
Click the payment processor logo on the right. (Non-PayPal logo)
At the next page, click the same logo again.
The Stripe There.com Payment Portal will appear.
Enter your Email.
Enter your debit or credit card number.
Enter the MM/YY and CVC.
Click on the Pay US dollar amount.

To purchase Therebucks using the PayPal platform…

Go to the Buy More Therebucks page.
Enter the US dollar amount you would like to purchase.
Click the Buy Now button.
Click the PayPal logo on the left.
The PayPal Portal will appear.
Enter your information to process the payment.

Please note it will take up to 10-15 minutes for your Therebucks purchase to be reflected in your balance. You can check your Therebucks balance in your Transaction History.

**There.com is currently experiencing issues with processing PayPal transactions as of 10/4/19. We are working with PayPal to resolve the situation. We expect PayPal services to be back up and running very soon. In the meantime, please use Stripe as a payment service alternative for purchasing Therebucks. A BABS December to Remember

The Bay Area Boat System (BABS) Club is happy to present a December to Remember in the virtual world There. The group is holding special holiday hoverboat events December 3rd through the 31st to celebrate the winter season.

Sign up for the first BABS Sleigh Ride of the season with your host KatesHappy. Sip hot cocoa and go dashing through the snow on a one horse open sleigh with your friends. Look for BABS holiday weekend activities planned for the upcoming Outpost of the Month: Faith Bay Town & BABS Outpost operated by Circuit_Rider. Santa will be coming to town and spreading his jolly cheer in There. BABS has five holiday flotillas planned during a December to Remember. Ring in the New Year with friends during the last BABS event of 2018.

The BABS group supports a network of large landing towers and outposts throughout There. The towers allow big groups of guided hoverboat tours to easily island hop from one location to the next. B.A.B.S.throws regular events and everyone is invited. You can pilot your own hoverboat or relax and enjoy the scenic view from the passenger seat.

Find out what’s going on in There.com and how you can be a part of it! Weekly and monthly planned themed events are happening all throughout There. Visit the one-stop location for all the latest information on upcoming events. Teleport over to the new There Themes and Events HUB.

At the new location, you will find information on current events and upcoming themes. Try your hand at hosting a themed event. There are billboards on display that provide the name of the Event Coordinator and a keyword for the next upcoming events. You can also participate as a Developer and create new virtual items to sell for special events.

Keep up to date on the latest news with the There World Themes Facebook Page and the new There Themes and Events website.

Weekly Themed Planning Meetings are held every Tuesday evening. Sign up for the next meeting and share your ideas for themed events or sign up to host creative and fun events for Thereians to enjoy.

Bay Area Boat System’s 12th Anniversary

The Bay Area Boat System (B.A.B.S.) club celebrates its 12th anniversary in There this month! To honor this celebration the B.A.B.S. group is holding special anniversary events September 15th through the 19th.

The B.A.B.S. group supports a network of large landing towers and outposts throughout There. The towers allow big groups of guided hoverboat tours to easily island hop from one location to the next. B.A.B.S.throws regular events and everyone is invited. You can pilot your own hoverboat or relax and enjoy the scenic view from the passenger seat.

The B.A.B.S. group was founded on September 23, 2004 by Thereian LossAngeles. It holds over 500 members and hosts regular events in There. The B.A.B.S.group is so extensive, it has three sub-groups consisting of the B.A.B.S.Flight Captains, B.A.B.S.Host Captains and the B.A.B.S.Outpost Community.

Don’t miss the big anniversary party on Monday, September 19th and the fun events leading up to it. B.A.B.S. has quests, bingo and cross-country racing and other exciting events planned for the celebration.
