Winter There Games Festivities
The 2016 Winter There Games have started! Join your fellow Thereians in some friendly competition. You can check the score and sign up for events through the official There Games Scoreboard. You have the next 10 days to earn points for your team. The Games will end on February 28th.
Everyone is invited to play and is already part of a team. The color of your name tag will tell you which team you’re on. There are 16 name tag colors. If you aren’t quite sure where you belong, it’s easy to find out. Just head over to the Winter Games Welcome Center and use the handy name tag sign. When you click the sign’s action tag, it will tell you what color your name tag is and also give you a link to join your team! This is a great way to meet people and make new friends.

Name the Foxy Winter There Games Mascot
The 2016 Winter There Games mascot needs your help. This cute little critter needs a name! The Thereian community sent in their suggestions and the committee has chosen five of their top favorite names for you to vote on. The choices are…Artie, Foxy Roxy, Mandy, Erica and Rory.
Log into There.com with your avatar and head over to the Amphitheater in the Winter There Games Village. There is a voting sign set up for you to cast your vote. Click on the Action Tag to open the sign and decide on your favorite.
Voting ends Wednesday, February 10th at 8:00 PM PST. Help name the 2016 WTG mascot!

There were so many great entries sent into the 2016 There Games Logo Contest this year! It was hard to pick a favorite. Over 300 Thereians voted and the community has chosen a winner. Drum roll please…

The Winter There Games are right around the corner and before the festivities can begin, we need to pick a logo! Several Thereians have submitted artwork for the 2016 WTG Logo Contest and now it’s up to you to decide the winner. Cast your vote for your favorite logo! The voting polls will be open January 19th – 21st. The winning logo will be displayed on a special Winter There Games poster and promotional items which will only be available for sale during the Games. Good luck to all of our participants!
New Year’s Events in There
Join your fellow Thereians to ring in the New Year! There are several fun events planned celebrating the arrival of 2016.
Susanszy is hosting a SnowFest New Year’s Party at Phoenix Park Wednesday, December 30th at 4:00 Pm PT/7:00 PM ET. There will be dancing and games. Phoenix Park has been transformed for a magical night of fun!
Later in the evening on Wednesday night, PrincessPebbie will be hosting New Year’s Eve Bingo at the Flat Iron Pub on Avalon Island. Get your There Bingo account set up prior to the start of Bingo so that you are ready to go when they start calling numbers. It goes fast! This special early celebration of New Year’s eve was sponsored by Amxscott.
Wake up early on NYE and get the party started in the morning with a special Happy New Year’s Breakfast Club event. Stop in for coffee or a spot of champagne and reminisce with friends over the good times in There during 2015.
Pre-game with friends in the afternoon at New Year’s Eve Deck of Cards with your pals and host Julian_Kingg. Hang out with other card players and discuss your New Year’s resolutions for 2016. Enjoy a night of leisurely ice skating while you wait for the ball to drop! Join your host KatesHappy for a few laps around the ice rink at Let it Snow for a New Year’s Eve open skate event.
Join your host KatesHappy at the RidgeRiders Club House for spectacular New Year’s Eve Fireworks. The celebration starts at the midnight countdown for Eastcoast NYE. The party is planned to go on till the wee hours of the morning.
Don’t miss the Cross Country Racers SnowFest event as participants follow flamingos and their Christmas gifts around There. Join host ccr_Gina for the last SnowFest event and first CCR of 2016!

2016 Winter There Games Logo Contest
It’s that time of year again! The Winter There Games are just around the corner. Are you ready to take home the gold for your team? Before each There Games we hold a logo contest to give the community a chance to show off their creativity and design skills. After the submissions are received, we invite the Thereian community to vote for their favorite There Games logo!
How does the Winter There Games Logo Contest work?
- The deadline to submit your logo design is Monday, January 18th at 12:00 Pacific/ 3:00 PM Eastern.
- Your design must include the words “Winter There Games” or “There Winter Games” and “2016”. You may use the There logo. You may not use anything that may infringe upon the official Olympic logo or any other copyrighted material.
- Your logo design must be 512 x 256 (it can be turned in either direction, so it can also be 256 x 512). Please use the .jpg or .png format.
- Send your .jpg or .png file to WTG.Avie@gmail.com – please include the words “There Games Logo Contest” in the subject line.
- All logo designs must be original work.
- All designs submitted will be posted anonymously for community viewing and voting. Voting will take place January 19th – 21st . The design that receives the most votes will become the official logo of the Winter There Games 2016.
- The logo will be displayed on a special Winter There Games poster to be available for purchase during the 2016 Winter There Games only.

Haunted Big Easy Island
In celebration of Halloween, Superdale has created the mother of all haunted houses in There! The annual event held at Big Easy Island just seems to get bigger and better with every season.
Make sure to bring a friend or two on your journey throughout the never-ending Haunted House. If you get lost, remember there is safety in numbers. Start your tour at the Haunted Big Easy Island. As you cross the bridge over the blood bayou you will find a book of scary stories. Read on about the terrible things that happened to a little old lady. Begin your journey through the house of horror and answer clues to a haunted quest. The quest runs throughout the endless rooms decorated with corpses, headstones, creepy crawlers, vampires and things that go bump in the night.
Superdale has really outdone himself this year! There are over 330 drops that have gone into creating the haunted masterpiece. We spoke with Superdale and he had mentioned that he had over 72 hours of planning and building to create the haunted house for this year. There are already plans in the works for next year’s build.
It is really a horrific sight to see and one you won’t want to miss! You can catch one of the Haunted Quests or drop by the Haunted Big Easy Island anytime day or night to take a tour of the biggest haunted house in There.
Tuesday Night Event Planning Meetings – You’re invited!
Do you have a creative idea for a fun event in There? Share your thoughts and help brainstorm fantastic events with new and seasoned hosts at the weekly Event Planning Meetings. Join your host EmmaJean on Tuesday evenings to discuss planning for future events, holidays and themes in the virtual world There.
The next Event Planning Meeting will take place on October 27th. Sign up for the event in advance.

Creepy Places in There
Halloween is right around the corner and many fantastic spooky and scary places have started popping up all over There! From pumpkin patches to ghostly cemeteries to haunted houses to Halloween shops, there are plenty of creepy places in our virtual world to explore with your friends.
Martin71’s Halloween Cave at Mount Valley Beach Neighborhood is a scary sight with giant zombies and a cave full of large hairy spiders. Watch out for burning lava! View the Halloween decorations that went into making this the creepiest cave in There!

This is not your average stroll through the community park. XxmooniexX has created a scary sanctuary for all things that go bump in the night at Hood Park. Ghosts, goblins and scarecrows, oh my! Get a behind the scenes look at all of the decorations used to make up this creepy park.
