Technical Support: Windows 11 and Edge Compatibility Issues with There
When “Flash” was replaced with “There Edge”, the things which were formerly Flash Controls – like the FunFinder, Shortcut Bar, ChangMe, and Message Bar – became like little web pages embedded in the There Client. To do this There Edge uses a standard Microsoft component called “WebView2”, which is kind of like a tiny Microsoft Edge Browser.
While this has worked well most of the time, Microsoft has recently made some updates which have broken There and other people’s applications which use WebView. For example, the issue with the There Client hangings or otherwise mis-behaving under Windows 11 is tied to WebView.
Tip: Check to make sure you have the most recent Windows 11 update. Go to Settings>Windows Update. Check to make sure you have Windows 11, version 24H2. If you don’t have the most recent version do an update and restart your computer. It’s also helpful to turn the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” to ON.
Unfortunately, a Microsoft Edge update on February 6th appears to have triggered a new problem – the WebView is there, it’s just not visible. This is what’s been causing the “endless message sounds” bug – the message bar is there, you just can’t see it.
We are trying to find a solution to this problem which is, well, problematic since it’s Microsoft Edge that’s broken, not There Edge or the There Client. We’ve had some success with maximizing the client to full screen, but only some of the time.
We will keep working on this and will inform the community as soon as we have more information.

If you’re new to There.com, now’s the perfect time to join—signing up is simple, and the Circus of the Stars is the ideal introduction to the virtual Thereian community. Look for Phoenix Star members that have a star in their nametag. They are new member helpers can chat with Free Silent Trial accounts. If you want to use Voice and have all of the bells and whistles so you can communicate with everyone, upgrade your Avatar to a Premium account.
Dress for the Occasion
No circus is complete without clowns, and this one is no exception! Dust off your brightest, wackiest clown costume or pick one up from Auctions and head over to Tropical Adventures Theme Park, the center of all the festivities. Whether you go for classic clown chic or a unique twist, your outfit will add to the cheerful chaos of the event.
At the entrance of Tropical Adventures you’ll find a map of rides and attractions. Read the information and head on into the park. Look for the Phoenix Star big top tent off in the distance. Make your way towards the tent to the hub of the circus. Here you’ll find an ice cream stand, soda machines, pinball, arcade games a petting zoo and more. Look for signs about the event and locate teleport links to the attractions.

Step Right Up! The grand festivities take place at Tropical Adventures theme park, where a colorful and fun-filled big top experience awaits you and your friends. The action kicks off at 11:00 AM Pacific / 2:00 PM Eastern, so don’t be late!
Earn tickets for spectacular prizes! There will be several main attractions where you can collect points to earn tickets. The more points you accumulate, the more tickets you’ll have to trade for amazing circus-themed prizes at the end of the event.
🎯 Skee Ball – Roll a large Feelium Ball down an inclined ramp and try to land it into bullseye rings. The higher the ring, the more points you score!
🚀 Avie Cannon – Step into the Avie Cannon and get launched at high speed! The farther you fly, the more tickets you earn.
🏎️ Avie Toss – Drive your buggy up a ramp and launch it into the air! The farther your buggy flies, the more points you rack up.
🔥 Bozo’s Ball of Fire – Enter the giant metal ball cage and compete against other buggy drivers! Knock opponents out of the cage to be the last Thereian standing and win tickets.

Stroll over to the dunk tank and use your paintball gun to knock an unlucky volunteer into the freezing cold water. They are a group of dedicated Thereians who assist and welcome new members to our community. They help facilitate the new member experience and show newcomers all the great and wonderful things our awesome virtual world has to offer.
When a new member signs up for There.com, they enter the virtual world as a Free Silent Trial account. Free Trials do not have the ability to communicate with other members, but they can talk and interact with Phoenix Stars! If you’ve ever come across a new member in-world and wanted to help them but couldn’t communicate, this is your chance! You can be a Phoenix Star and help new members. All you have to do is meet the guidelines and complete a quest. The Circus of the Stars event is a great way to meet the Phoenix Stars and add them to your buddy list, so you can call on them in the future to help new members.

Annual Club Fair in There
Join a club online and make new friends in the virtual world There.com. Visit the annual Club Fair from Friday, January 10th to Saturday, January 18th to browse teams, leagues, Neighborhood groups and social clubs looking for new recruits. Check out the different clubs on display at the annual community-wide event and sign up for club events.
To join a club in the virtual world There, first create your very own avatar here. Once you’re logged onto There, teleport over to the Club Fair at the There Fairgrounds. Travel the walkways around the Fairgrounds and visit the different types of clubs There has to offer. You’ll find signs, brochures and information on each club. Check the individual booths for upcoming Club Fair events where you can meet and interact with other club members.
If you are the leader of a club in There and would like to participate in the Club Fair, join the There Fairgrounds Development Group. Once you are part of the club, find an open Lot at the Fairgrounds to rent out. Here’s a list of the remaining available Lots. Make sure to name your Lot after your Club and schedule events for your Club inside of the Lot during the week of the fair. Use the keyword Club Fair in your event description to have your event featured on the home page.
Enjoy the Club Fair from January 10th to the 18th! Challenge yourself to sign up for at least five new to you clubs.
