Oh the weather outside is frightful, but inside it’s so delightful! Cozy up next to the fire in your very own winter cabin on Frosty Island. Enjoy snow-covered terrain and the beautiful pink, purple and orange skies of this delightful island in There shaped like a snowman. Make yourself at home in a two-story winter cabin located in Santa’s Village. This lovely home offers a dining room, living room, family room and upstairs loft. Complete with outdoor lights and frozen icicles.
The snow-covered cabin is included free with the monthly rental of a one-acre Development Lot. Join the Santa’s Village Development Group first before picking out your new homestead. View the winter cabin listings to find the perfect spot. To rent a holiday cabin for the winter, step into the Lot and go to This Place on your menu bar and clicking information about For Rent. All tenants who rent a winter cabin in Santa’s Village between now and December 20th will be entered into a random drawing for two months of free rent. The drawing will be held on December 21st. Tenants do not need to be present to win. The winner will be notified by ThereMail so make sure your registered email address is up to date.
You can purchase furniture, artwork and a Christmas tree from Shop Central or the Auctions to decorate your cabin for the holidays. Our Designers have created many different styles of holiday home decor for you to choose from. Once you’ve got your home decorated to your liking, you can create an event and invite your friends and new neighbors to a housewarming party.
If you’d like to build your own home from scratch, you can purchase a PAZ from Shop Central and drop it anywhere around Santa’s Village on the Island of Frosty. Pick and choose what kind of furniture and decorations you would like to have in your home.
There are also two Neighborhoods located on Frosty that are welcoming new tenants. Make yourself at home at Candy Cane Lane or Winter Wonderland.
Autumn Camp-A-Palooza
Camp-A-Palooza is now a quarterly event. Get ready for the week-long Fall camping trip in the virtual world There! Join new and old friends for ghost stories, sing-a-longs around the campfire and leisurely hikes through the woods October 2nd-10th.
Sign up for the Hike to Camp event on Wednesday, October 2nd and head out with Camp Counslers to the Camp-A-Palooza campsite. Be one of the first Thereians to reach the campsite and grab one the best spots to pitch a tent.
If you are not able to attend the Hike to Camp event on Wednesday, you can cruise over to Happy Little Trees Campground and find the teleportlink out to the secret camp location. There will be plenty of fun camping activities planned during the week. Search keyword camp on the Events Page to discover the line-up of Camp-A-Palooza activities.

The annual camping trip starts Wednesday night! Do you have your gear packed and ready to go? Make sure you are properly prepared to survive the great outdoors in There. You can purchase camping supplies in the Auctions if you need a tent, sleeping bag, stove or cooler to take with you.
Own Your Own Slice of Paradise
Interested in building your virtual dream home in There? If you’ve caught the decorating bug, a small private 20-Acre island Neighborhood is a great option to build your own slice of paradise for virtual living.
There are currently two 20-Acre Neighborhoods listed in Auctions. The smaller affordable 20-Acre hoods allow for up to 200 decorative drops. They are great for individual builders or to be shared with a neighbor. Learn how to build your own community in There with the Neighborhood Set Up Manual. You can shop the Auctions for a 20-Acre private island Neighborhood or send in a request to our customer service team and we’d be happy to list a Neighborhood of your liking in the Auctions.
Comet A1 is a private 20-Acre Island Neighborhood located offshore of Comet. It has a large bay capable of holding ships and boats. The island’s terrain includes flat sandy beaches and an elevated grassy knoll perfect for beachfront living. The monthly rent for Comet A1 is 95,000T. Neighborhood News
We’ve got good news! Our members have been asking for more affordable 20-Acre Neighborhoods since the dawn of New There and we are excited to announce that we have released a limited amount of smaller hoods that will be available in the Auctions over the next few weeks.
We’ve removed some of the larger 100-Acre Neighborhoods and replaced them with a couple of 20-Acre hoods to increase our small hood supply. There are now just shy of a dozen new small waterfront Neighborhoods spread throughout Aurora, Kansas and Comet with one unique landlocked lavender field 20-Acre hood on Aurora.
All of the new waterfront hoods have a rental due date of June 9th. We will be releasing them a few at a time over the next four weeks into our Neighborhood Auctions. Keep an eye out on our blog for Auction announcements for the 20-Acre hoods.
If you’re interested in one of our 45-Acre private Islands or a spacious 100-Acre hood, send a request to feedback@thereinc.com with the doid to the hood you are interested in and we’ll place it in the Auctions for you so that you can bid on it. You can find the Neighborhood doid in the description area of the Neighborhood details page or at the end of the Neighborhood URL. It is an eight digit number.

Holiday Home Decorating Tour

The guided Festival of Lights Holiday Home Tour will take place on Monday, December 19th at 7:00 PM PST/10:00 PM EST.
If you cannot make the guided tour, there will be a Self-Guided Festival of Lights Holiday Home Tour that will take place between December 17th through the 26th. The host will track your journey on the tour with a quest kit.
All participants in both the guided tour and self-guided tour will be entered into a dice roll to win a Christmas Sleigh and Reindeer Hoverboat designed by Migman.

Neighborhood Zones are essentially reserved areas of empty land on one of There’s islands. While the terrain of each Zone may differ, they are all “blank slates” with no pre-placed objects inside the Zone. This allows you, as a Neighborhood owner, and your tenants to build and create whatever you wish in your own space. When a Neighborhood Zone has been purchased, you can fill it with objects like trees, houses, and other decorative items.
There are hundreds of items to choose from in Shop Central and Auctions to decorate your Neighborhood. The possibilities are endless for a number of themes. A great place to start is the “Home and Garden” section. Happy decorating!

To participate, you’ll need to do the following:
1. Capture a photo of a BABS flight captain, host captain, outpost tower owner, outpost tower, event or tour, you with your favorite hoverboat, your name on a boat track at Skidmark Speedway, you racing your hoverboat at Skidmark Speedway, the BABS Club House or an unfortunate boating accident.
2. Submit your avatar name and photo(s) via email to photos@babscommunity.com.
3. Attend the wrap-up party and see if you’ve won a prize!

2014 Winterfest Decorating Contest
Bring cheer to your virtual home this winter season with Christmas and Hanukkah decorations found in Shop Central and the Auctions.
Once you have placed the star on top of the tree or lit the menorah to add the final touch to your holiday home, enter your masterpiece in the Winterfest Decorating Contest. A special award and prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Register your holiday home by December 14th at 8:45 PM PST to participate in the voting period from the 15th – 19th. Read the official rules of the Winterfest Decorating Contest.
The winners will be announced at the Solstice Gala to be held at Santa’s Workshop on Saturday December 20th at 5:00 PM PST.
