Holiday Highlight – Holly Jolly Lane
On a remote private island off the coast of Aurora, you’ll discover a winter wonderland in the virtual world There.com. The bustling community of Holly Jolly Lane is warm and welcoming despite the entire island being covered in a layer of fresh powdered snow. This festive Christmas neighborhood is a sight to see! We are happy to add Holly Jolly Lane as a featured community for our Holiday Highlight series.
Our first stop on the Holly Jolly Lane tour is Party Bean’s Winter Coffee Shop. It’s a great place to fuel up on coffee, hot chocolate and sweet treats. Party Bean’s offers outdoor seating for fireside chats with friends. On Monday nights you can play BINGO hosted by Susanszy. Earn 1,000 Tbux for every round of BINGO you win plus other fun prizes like props and decorations. The weekly event starts at 6:00 pm Pacific/9:00 pm Eastern. Comet’s weekly holiday Spades events are held at the Twinkle Star Gazeebo. If you like playing cards with friends sign up every Friday at 5:00 pm Pacific/8:00 pm Eastern. One of the co-leaders and residents of Holly Jolly Lane, Flygirl_Dani has been hard at work with Santa’s elves this year building and designing an entire new line of Christmas designs. Many of her new holiday buildings are on display in the neighborhood. The collection includes a Christmas tree lot, farm shop, gingerbread house, Rudy’s reindeer farm, a hot chocolate stand and a little red truck with a Christmas tree among other festive decorations. Holiday Highlight – Northern Lights Community
The Northern Lights Community is kicking off our brand-new Holiday Highlight series this week in the virtual world There.com. This unique neighborhood is made up of ThereHouses and yard PAZes. It’s located atop the Northern Bluff and Tapu Knoll areas of Northern Motu Motu. The townspeople take great pride in the 80-meter landmark bridge constructed and maintained by community members. The Northern Lights Pass connects the separate residential areas high up on the bluffs.
At the center of town is the picture-perfect Northern Lights Christmas Gazebo. Nestled on a snowbank and surrounded by flocked Christmas trees, the gazebo captures the essence of holiday joy and is the shining star of the neighborhood.
There are several inviting game tables set up for members to play cards and socialize with friends. Every Friday evening, the community hosts Comet’s Spades events. All levels of spades players are welcome to join in the fun. Explore the Activities page and sign up for their weekly spades events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and connect with fellow card players.
Wander through the snow-kissed streets of the Northern Lights Community and enjoy the individuality and creativity of each beautifully curated holiday home. Neighbors have decorated their front yards with giant candy canes, blinking lights, jolly snowmen and festive carolers. Here are a few of their outdoor decorations that you can shop to build and create your own holiday magic.

Home for the Holidays
Oh the weather outside is frightful, but inside it’s so delightful! Cozy up next to the fire in your very own winter cabin on Frosty Island. Enjoy snow-covered terrain and the beautiful pink, purple and orange skies of this delightful island in There shaped like a snowman. Make yourself at home in a two-story winter cabin located in Santa’s Village. This lovely home offers a dining room, living room, family room and upstairs loft. Complete with outdoor lights and frozen icicles.
The snow-covered cabin is included free with the monthly rental of a one-acre Development Lot. Join the Santa’s Village Development Group first before picking out your new homestead. View the winter cabin listings to find the perfect spot. To rent a holiday cabin for the winter, step into the Lot and go to This Place on your menu bar and clicking information about For Rent. Here is a helpful article about setting up your Development Lot in the Santa’s Village Development Zone.
All tenants who rent a winter cabin in Santa’s Village between now and December 20th will be entered into a random drawing for two months of free rent. The drawing will be held on December 22nd. Tenants do not need to be present to win. The winner will be notified by ThereMail so make sure your registered email address is up to date.
You can purchase furniture, artwork and a Christmas tree from Shop Central or the Auctions to decorate your cabin for the holidays. Our Designers have created many different styles of holiday home decor for you to choose from. Once you’ve got your home decorated to your liking, you can create an event and invite your friends and new neighbors to a housewarming party.
If you’d like to build your own home from scratch, you can purchase a PAZ from Shop Central and drop it anywhere around Santa’s Village on the Island of Frosty. Pick and choose what kind of furniture and decorations you would like to have in your home.
Festival of Lights Holiday Home Tour
Do you have a virtual home in There that you plan to decorate for the holidays? Submit your holiday home to the Festival of Lights Holiday Home Tour hosted by RobbyBoy to be entered into a drawing for a holiday gift and to be a stop along the tour.

Calling All Holiday Hosts!
The Festival of Lights will be taking place in There.com over the next couple of weeks. Do you have a winter holiday event in mind that you would like to plan and include in the festival?
Some past fun and creative events held during the holidays include winter a wonderland fashion show, Santa scavenger hunt, caroling, secret Santa gift exchange, eight days of Hanukkah, winter ball, ice skating, holiday quests, Developer Showcase, sleigh rides and much more!
If you’d like to plan a holiday event to include in the Festival of Lights, make sure to add the keyword FOL to your event description. You can also contact Staff member Pyrena_Zosime and send her a ThereMail or Facebook message with the details of your event to feature on the There blog and Facebook page.

Build A Snowman Contest
They say no two snowflakes are alike and when you smush them all together you get one creative and unique snowman! Join the winter tradition of building a snowman for fun. Enter the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman Contest” hosted by pHLuid13 on Frosty Island.
Teleport to Frosty Island where the contest will be held. Members are dropping their PAZes in a row. Once you’ve scouted your location, you’ll need to drop a Quarter-Acre PAZ to participate. You can purchase one from Shop Central.
Next, you will need to acquire the parts to build your snowman. Start with the Build a Snowman Body and then choose one of the different snowman heads to top it off! There are also snowman accessories like scarves and arms available.
You can get as creative with your snowman build as you like, but are limited to the 20 drops available with a Quarter-Acre PAZ.
The contest will allow for two special winners! A 37,000T prize will be awarded to the best dressed snowman and the PAZ that tells the best story.
The contest is going on now and will end at 11:59 PM PST on December 13th. Voting for the best dressed snowman and best story will take place on the 14th.

Home for the Holidays
Create a winter home on Frosty Island and hunker down for the holiday season. Enjoy the snow-covered terrain and beautiful sunset skies of this winter wonderland location where you can rent a cozy cabin in Santa’s Village.
Make yourself at home in a two-story snow-covered abode with a view of Santa’s Workshop. This lovely home offers a dining room, living room, family room and upstairs loft. Complete with outdoor lights and frozen icicles. the only thing missing from the front yard is Frosty the Snowman!
The winter cabin is included free with the monthly rental of a one-acre Development Lot. Join the Santa’s Village Development Group in order to rent a cabin Lot. Once you find the perfect cabin, you can rent the Lot by going to This Place on your menu bar and clicking information about For Rent. See the Development Lot Set-Up Manual for more information on how to configure your Lot and decorate.
