The Sunshine and Tan Lines event starts this week! Is your avatar ready for summer? In There it’s super easy to change your look in a flash. Just hop into a spa and enjoy a few “spa treatments.” You can change your skin tone, facial features and body shape by moving the sliders in the ChangeMe window. Click Save and voila – instant makeover!

Race across the islands of There with your friends exploring the best beaches our virtual world has to offer. The race starts at 5:00 PM PST on Friday, August 5th. Event hosted by CCR_Gina.
Jungle Pools Splash & Swim Social
Relax and stay cool with your friends this week at the refreshing Jungle Pools during Sunshine and Tan Lines. The waterfalls and lush scenery are a perfect backdrop for catching up and chilling out. The Splash & Swim Social starts at 11:00 AM PST on Saturday, August 6th. Event hosted by There Staff Pyrena_Zosime.
Stop on over at the There Events Party Barge and saddle up to the bar for a game of BINGO or lay out on top of the barge and work on your Avatar’s tan. It’s a good idea to be registered for the game ahead of time and ready to go when the first number is called. You can register your Ultimate There BINGO account here. Grab your surf board and head over to Golden Sands for a race around the pond. Beware of what lurks beneath the surface of the water! Everyone who completes a lap is eligible for a prize. Bay Area Boat Systems Sailboat Tour
You know what they say about those three hour boat tours. If there’s a guy on your boat named Gilligan, jump ship! Just kidding, this event is only scheduled for one hour. Join the B.A.B.S. flight captains for a boat cruise and sail off into the sunset for the Sunshine and Tan Lines event. The boats leave the docks at 8:00 PM PST on Wednesday, August 10th. Summer Spot: Underwater Environment
The Sunshine and Tan Lines event kicks off next week in the 3-D virtual world There promoting fun summer activities to do with friends online while beating the heat in real life. This week we plan on highlighting unique Summer Spots you can visit in There. We’re on the hunt for the best virtual pools, hot tubs, swimming holes and beaches that inspire that carefree summertime feeling when hanging out with friends.
While exploring the waterways of the Fantasy Island Neighborhood, we stumbled upon a beautiful waterfall spanning the length of the water channel. Upon closer inspection, we discovered the entrance to an underwater cave on top of the falls and couldn’t resist taking the plunge into the underwater environment.
If you have never had the opportunity to swim in the ocean in There, this is your chance to experience a unique and serene underwater world. As you walk down through the entrance to the cave and submerge your avatar underwater, the tranquility and beauty of the sea life below inspires a sense of calm and relaxation.
A blanket of colorful shells and bottom dwelling sea creatures span the sandy floor of the cavern. Large schools of fish dart back and forth around your head with a nervous energy. Up close the water is a calm and tranquil shade of blue, but off in the distance it grows dark and murky. You can make out large shadows slowly gliding through the water. The curious movements draw you to the back of the cavern. A shipwreck from long ago dots the underwater landscape. The amount of bountiful booty strewn about in broken chests is a treasure hunter’s dream.
The calming effects of the underwater environment give off a sense of safety as you explore deeper towards the back of the cavern. Camouflaged in the drifting beds of kelp, giant avie-eating sharks lurk waiting for the next unsuspecting swimmer.
Luckily we don’t have Health in There, because otherwise it would be GAME OVER for any Avie brave enough to swim through these shark infested waters without a safety cage.
In addition to great white sharks and schools of fish, there are several mystical creatures who inhabit the underwater environment as well. We encountered beautiful mermaids, a shy water dragon and a very friendly octopus in our exploration under the sea.
Take the plunge and explore the amazing and unique Underwater Environment created by Lynn_2. We highly recommend visiting this one of a kind Summer Spot in There! If you are not a strong swimmer, we suggest using a flotation device and the buddy system to avoid being shark bait.
Call For Summer Games Event Hosts
The There Games are hailed as one of the largest crowd-drawing events in There.com. The foundation of the Games is the creative, fun and competitive events dreamed up and put on by friendly There Games event Hosts and Co-Hosts. Each year There Games competitors look forward to the unique types of events offered by each Host. There are all kinds of competitors with different interests, skill levels and abilities who seek out events like card games, vehicle races, costume parties, round-ups, underwater basket weaving and tons of other types of rewarding events. In order to have a successful There Games we need Event Hosts and Co-Hosts who are fired up and ready to put on fun and fantastic events for the competitors. We are putting out a call to all past, present and future Hosts to sign up to host a There Games event this summer season.
If you are a seasoned Host or still climbing up the Event Host skill ladder, we’d love to have your participation in the upcoming Summer There Games. The Host Coordinators have a lot of great documents and information about Hosting events in There to share with you. There is a weekly meeting for There Games Event Hosts where you can get advice and support on how to set up and manage your event. They can help you get your events listed in the Official Scoreboard and help you figure out how you would like to score your event. The Host Coordinators have come up with a helpful document for Event Hosts to learn about new and creative ways to score There Games events.
If you’re interested in hosting a Summer There Games event, sign up for the There Games Hosting Group to stay in contact with other Hosts and receive updates about important Host information. The weekly Host Meetings are held at There Games Park. The meetings are an hour-long and you can discuss your ideas and get feedback from other Hosts. Attending the meetings are not required, but they can be really helpful. If you’re interested in hosting and can’t stop by a meeting, you can contact the Host Coordinators directly by ThereMail. Summer There Games Islands Open House
We’ve overhauled the Summer There Games Neighborhood! Come check out the newest upgrades the islands have to offer. We would like to invite you and your friends to an open house to tour the new buildings. coliseum, museum, statues & more!
Summer There Games Welcome Center
Start your tour out at the new Welcome Center where you can find information about the upcoming Summer Games. The new 2015 Summer merchandise is also on display! Pick up a poster, banner or flag to place in your own home or Neighborhood to help promote the Games. You can try on and purchase There Games clothing directly from our fashionable mannequins.
We’ve set up a Summer There Games Museum honoring clothing and merchandise from previous years. Don’t miss the one-of-a-kind winner’s platforms created for the very first Games event. Let us know if we are missing any Summer Games historical items that should be present in the Museum. Special thanks to Orielle for helping us track down most of the items on display.
Summer There Games Museum
Up on the Grassy Knoll, Club99 has set up a grand stage for the opening and closing ceremonies. They will provide music and dancing in celebration of the Summer There Games.

With help from the community, we were able to track down and restore the Summer There Games statues to their prior glory. They now have a permanent home for everyone to admire and enjoy.
The Nametag Team Hangouts introduced at the Winter There Games were so popular with the members we decided to bring the over to the Summer Hood too! The Summer Games Islands are now home to sixteen new Lots with open hosting rights. We’ve created one for each nametag color to use as a hangout during the STG events. Find your team hangout and start decorating!
There are two new Lots dedicated to table games in There. Summer Cards is available for open hosting during the Games and at other times. We also have set up several cracked tables over at Cracked Events. Pick up a brochure to find out how you can host at both Lots.
Host your own Cracked There Games Event!
If you are interested in hosting a There Games event, but not sure where to hold it at, there are two wonderful options in the Summer There Games Islands Neighborhood. If you are looking for a large grassy area, the There Games Park is available for open hosting. We also have Tiki Beach a waterfront Lot that is available as well. Contact PrincessPebbie if you would like to host an event during There Games.

Believe it or not, the next There Games is right around the corner! Are you ready to take it to the next level and step up to be a There Games Host this year? If you’re up for the challenge to organize and execute a highly populated event in the virtual world There, we want to hear from you!
There are so many fun types of events scheduled during the There Games. If you have an interest in cards, bingo, racing, paintball, socializing, underwater basket weaving or a creative idea for a new game where Thereians can earn points for their color team, you should be an event host! We need fun, creative, patient, responsible and friendly people like you to host unforgettable events that will be the talk of the Games.
If you are considering Event Hosting for the first time during There Games, there are plenty of seasoned hosts who are available to offer ideas, advice and help with setting up your events. They can provide tips and pointers for making your event go smoothly.
Perhaps you just want to get your feet wet as an Event Co-Host? Behind every great captain is an outstanding first-mate! Co-Hosts are needed for this Summer There Games as well.
